We’re excited to announce that the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College has officially earned initial accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing—effective January 30, 2024!
This milestone affirms the quality and rigor of our program, which prepares graduates to provide safe, effective nursing care in both inpatient and structured outpatient settings. Students benefit from a balanced curriculum that blends classroom theory, hands-on skills training and real-world clinical experience in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and community agencies throughout Interior Alaska.
Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN, the national licensing exam required to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
We are currently accepting ten students for the next cohort, which begins in August 2025.
Application deadline: July 14, 2025
Interview period: July 15–28, 2025
Acceptance notifications: August 1, 2025
